Science and Technology Park in Sosnowiec is situated on the territory of the former „Niwka-Modrzejów” Hard Coal Mine. The main task of the Science and Technology Park in Sosnowiec is providing the future entrepreneurs with favorable conditions for running innovative business activity and the access to innovations, i.a. by means of arranging buildings and premises in a way which will suit their needs as well as areas furnished with appropriate technical utilities. Within the first task Skanska adapted four-storey, post-mine building of the former dispatch office to its new production and research function, including pharmaceutical industry.Task two consisted in construction and adaptation of five-storey building, which was modified according to the needs of entrepreneurs running innovative business activity. After modernization new office areas as well as training and conference rooms were created. The conference and training complex includes five rooms, one of which has more than 200 seats. Moreover, the whole area inside the building was divided into 14 functional modules including laboratory office and storage rooms as well as staff and sanitary facilities. Some of the office rooms were furnished with office equipment.
