The Bell County Courthouse serves as the new justice complex for Bell County in Belton, Texas. The facility was built to house District Courts, the District Attorney and the District Clerk. The exterior imagery of the Bell County Courthouse accurately reflects its proximity to the Texas Hill Country. Natural stone and stucco, along with portions of metal roofing, wide overhangs and deep-set windows, establish the regional vernacular.
The site development and landscaping also reinforce the overall concept. The massing of the building is done in such a way as to respond to a more human scale. The facilities are organized along a wandering dry creek bed with indigenous trees and plantings focused along the creek and the building.

Great care was given to the design and construction of the lobby. The lobby was placed in front of the two-story Courthouse structure, establishing a dominant element and identifying the public entry to create an open and inviting approach to the building. The interior spaces are open, with light colors and high ceilings.

The result is a new legacy for the leaders and citizens of Bell County. The courthouse is an image of open, efficient and progressive government and justice. The interior spaces offer visitors and staff simple yet pleasing environments. The image enhances the community and is a natural part of the local climate and area. The front entry rotunda consists of engineered curtain wall system with the use of aluminum composite panels for shading features. Interior finishes are top quality with all millwork consisting of prefinished Red Oak material and terrazzo flooring. Security and Detention measures are included in this project and will be fully integrated with the counties current systems.
