The project includes modifications to White Tanks FRS No. 3 Remediation Project - Phase 2. The construction includes the reconstruction of approximately 4,200 feet of the existing dam not previously modified during Phase 1 construction by removing the upstream section of the dam and replacing it with a filter zone and embankment fill zone resulting in an increase in the total height of the existing dam. Approximately 3,800 feet of new dam segments with filter zones will be constructed at the emergency spillway to the south and as an extension of the existing dam to the north. A new 1,000 foot wide emergency spillway will be constructed consisting of reinforced concrete drop structure, abutments, and stilling basin. Downstream of the emergency spillway a channel and containment dikes will be constructed. Phase 2 will also include landscaping of the dam, fill areas, borrow areas and other disturbed areas.
