College diploma in engineering – a fourth year of technical study

The fourth year of study within the Swedish technical programme is aimed at preparing you for a professional career and is only available at ten colleges in Sweden. Skanska College is one of those colleges. After the fourth year of study you will have gained a college diploma in engineering. Furthermore, if you have completed the fourth year of study at Skanska College, you will be offered a job at Skanska

As of autumn 2011, a fourth year of study is being offered within the Swedish Technical Programme. Skanska College in Växjö is the only independent college in Sweden to have been granted the right to offer the fourth year of study. It is been granted this right on account of, among other factors, the high quality of its teaching and close association with working life (the labor market?).

Skanska College guarantees you a job

The fourth year of study within the Technical Programme is entirely aimed at preparing you for a professional career. Everything you learn during your fourth year is intended to enable you to proceed directly into your working life. If you successfully complete the fourth year of study at Skanska College you are already guaranteed a job, since Skanska offers probationary employment at its company to all those who obtain a college diploma in engineering.

The contents of the fourth year of the study programme

The contents of the fourth year of the technical programme have not yet been definitely decided. The Swedish National Agency for Education is working on the production of the curriculum for the course. However, one thing that has already definitely been decided is that the fourth year of study within the technical programme shall contain 900 Swedish college credits, of which at least 300 of those Swedish college credits shall be directly related to practical work within the profession.

Skanska College offers an urban construction and urban management orientation, whereby you will receive in-depth study in construction techniques, the construction process and production management as well as leadership and organisation. The focus is on (?) construction.

After completion of your studies you will have gained a college diploma in engineering with an urban construction and urban management profile.
