Apprenticeship is one of the career paths toward becoming a skilled worker at Skanska. You may apply for such a position on the completion of an upper-secondary-school level construction and civil-engineering program. Your education will be completed through the apprenticeship and you will be certified as a skilled worker after two-and-a-half years.
The majority of our apprentices are recruited from the construction and civil-engineering programs of upper-secondary schools, directly on completion of the student’s period of work experience. To a minor extent, we also accept traditional apprentices, which is an opportunity for those who have not completed a construction and civil-engineering program, but who wish to proceed to the role of a skilled worker.
Those who work at Skanska as an apprentice are assigned an instructor, who will ensure the development of their skills. Together with your instructor and management, you will have scheduled follow-ups to ensure that you obtain the training and competency you require. Skanska will endeavor to let you try out as many different tasks as possible during your apprenticeship. On completion of your apprenticeship, you will have worked the required number of apprenticeship hours required for your certification.
If you wish to contribute to building the communities of tomorrow, enjoy personal growth and wish to create something enduring, an apprentice position at Skanska may be suited to you.
We do not accept expressions of interest via email. When Skanska has a need to recruit new apprentices, they will advertise apprenticeship services under job openings.
