Diversity involves recognizing the value of differences. When we at Skanska talk about diversity, we mean for example, different educational and professional backgrounds, gender, age and ethnicity. Greater diversity yields a range of positive effects, such as employee satisfaction and development and increased profitability.
The construction industry has been traditionally viewed as a place for male engineers, which is the case to a certain degree at Skanska today. However, we are far from satisfied. Our goal at Skanska is that we who work at Skanska should reflect the entire population.
Our recruitment activities should lead to greater diversity, which is essential to achieve higher profitability and become an attractive employer. We will increase diversity by employing more women, individuals with a non-Swedish ethnical background and people with different educational backgrounds.
Skanska must have a composition that reflects the wider society if it is to continue along the right path and predict changes that affect us and our customers.
